Management team
Andrew Airey, Chief Executive
Following a
career in business and education, Andy joined us in 2005. He is
responsible for the overall direction and strategy of The Inspiring
Futures Foundation. Andy is a qualified maths teacher, with an MBA
and an MA in Engineering Science. He became a Trustee of the
National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) in 2007.
Ian Newman, Director of Finance and IT
Ian is a fellow of
the Institute of Certified Accountants and has previously worked
for Waterstones the Booksellers and Business Link for London, where
he has held the position of Director of Finance and IT. His
interests outside of work include rugby, teaching and
photography.
Heather Hudson-Oldnall, Marketing
Manager
Heather is
marketing manager for Inspiring Futures and joined in 2006. She has
an MBA from Henley Management Collegeand has worked in sales and
marketing for American Express and Liberty International as well as
other organizations. Heather has also worked as a marketing
consultant in a number of sectors.
John Watson, Regional Director
John's
background is independent Education with 19 years' teaching
experience and boarding responsibilities latterly as a Housemaster
at Uppingham. He joined ISCO in 1995, Subsequent
responsibilities include liaison with the Morrisby psychometric
partner, Area Manager, Project Manager for Lincolnshire Grammar
School pilot, marketing Group convenor, Aimhigher coordinator and
Training Manager. John has degrees in history and education and a
Diploma in Career Guidance.
Julia Watson, International Director
Julia is a modern languages graduate, holds a Postgraduate
Certificate in Education as well as a Diploma in Careers Guidance.
After fulfilling a number of teaching and management roles in the
independent sector she joined ISCO in 2000, working initially in
the Eastern Region and subsequently as European Director. Since
2010 she has held the position of International Director, with
responsibility for the international team and the
growing number of member schools outside the UK.
Carey Irwin, Regional Director
Carey has a
degree in Social Policy, a Masters in Applied Education and a
Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance. She has worked in the
field of careers for 10 years, both as a careers adviser, team
manager and assessor for the NVQ Advice and Guidance.
Sarah Frend, Regional Director
Sarah has a degree
in philosophy and psychology, a diploma in careers
guidance and a further education teaching certificate. She has been
with ISCO since 2002 and as well as working in her schools in the
Midlands, manages the area teams for the north of England. Previous
roles have included being ISCO's training manager, teaching adults
in further education colleges, Head of Careers in an independent
school and working in careers services for Solihull, Wiltshire,
Kent and Dorset LEAs. Sarah has specialised with both special needs
and academically able students.
Jonathan Hardwick, Regional Director
Jonathan has a degree in economics and economic history as
well as a post-graduate certificate in education. He has worked
with ISCO since 2007 managing the teams for south west England.
Jonathan was head of sixth form in an ISCO member school, where he
taught economics and critical thinking and co-ordinated the
school’s life skills programme which included personal, social and
health education, citizenship, careers and higher education
guidance and study skills. Jonathan has been an inspector for the
Independent Schools and an examiner for AS level critical
thinking.
Lynn Hanks, Human Resources
Lynn has a degree in
economics and accounting, a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers
Guidance as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management.
She recently completed a Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching.
Lynn is a member of the Institute of Careers Guidance and the
Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. Before joining ISCO
Lynn worked in careers guidance in the state sector and held senior
positions in a range of commercial businesses, her last appointment
being European Vice President of Human Resources for a marketing
company.
David Setchell, Regional Director
David is
currently Regional Director for the West of Scotland and Northern
Ireland and director for Scotland and Ireland for The Inspiring
Futures Foundation. Prior to joining Inspiring Futures in
2001, David worked in both the public and private sectors in
management and graduate recruitment, organisational development and
human resource management. Previously he enjoyed a 26 year career
as an army officer culminating in his last 3 years having
responsibility for career development for soldiers of the Corps of
Royal Engineers. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance
and the British Psychological Society Level A Certificate in
Occupational Testing.
In his spare time David runs a small livestock farm in
Renfrewshire and enjoys singing with a local Choral Society. He has
had a lifelong love for jazz and is also a qualified yachtmaster.
With a son who was at Glasgow School of Art and a daughter at
Stirling University David is well versed in the trials and
tribulations of preparation and making the right choices for Higher
Education.
