Learn about the history of Inspiring Futures.

1930

Inspiring Futures began in the independent sector when the first careers guidance staff were appointed at Eastbourne and Malvern Colleges.

1950s

The Public Schools Appointments Bureau was established and was successful in working with industry to finance general careers guidance and events.

1960s

During this decade, most independent schools had recruited careers guidance staff.

1970

The Independent Schools Careers Organisation (ISCO) appointed its first director to provide its services to member schools.

Inspiring Futures today

Over the last 30 years, the services offered have expanded. Inspiring Futures has helped more than 650,000 young people and provide an invaluable service to schools and connect industry with schools and students.

In 2007, Inspiring Futures recognised the need for its services with a wider range of young people, but still maintains its focus on young people who are considering a higher education route for their first career.
