Effective careers guidance demands very special skills, yet teachers are often expected to develop from a position of little knowledge to expert status in a very short time.

Inspiring Futures offer courses that are specifically designed to develop the knowledge and skills of careers staff so that they can better guide their students' decision making. These include:

Careers guidance education and professional qualifications

  • Professional training workshops and conferences.
  • Regional events and conferences that are designed to provide your school’s careers staff with opportunities to upgrade their skills and explore specific careers in depth. These events also provide your staff  the chance to network with other careers professionals and industry and university representatives.
  • In-service Education and Training (INSET) courses.
  • Certificate in Professional Studies: Careers Education and Guidance. A distance learning course accredited and run by the Canterbury Christ Church University.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Careers Guidance. A distance learning course accredited by the University of  the West of Scotland in conjunction with the Institute of Careers Guidance.
